Arts, culture, diversity and community

Stanford Hall values the arts and culture at the heart of our vision. We welcome a number of different educational programmes and cultural events on an annual basis, bringing together diverse audiences, artists and communities to enjoy our heritage.

We host the annual Tribe of Doris, a creative arts summer school, which works “to promote diversity, preserving heritage and forging new relationships across generations; genres; geographical locations. Our aim is to unite separate communities; promote and support diverse artists; influence the local and national Cultural Arts Agenda’s and programming to include the rich and unexplored talents of the Worlds Ethnic groups in the UK and beyond”.

We also host LIFEbeat summer camps for young people aged 14-18 focused around using the arts to enhance mental health and wellbeing and to foster inclusive communities. The programme goals are to expand creativity, learn from difference, to take inspiration from nature, to expand our inner lives and to learn to take action on the things we care about. LIFEbeat was founded by Lucy Sicks (Fothergill) in 2007 and Stanford hosted the very first programme for London youth in 2008. We have held programmes on an annual basis since, and have welcomed over 1,000 young people from throughout the UK.
